Byrom Street Chambers shortlisted at Manchester Legal Awards for Manchester Arena litigation

29th May 2026

Byrom Street Chambers is proud to have been shortlisted at the Manchester Legal Awards as part of the Manchester Arena Civil Litigation Team in the category of Personal Injury/Clinical Negligence Team of the Year.

The nomination recognises the collective efforts of the legal teams involved in the civil litigation arising from the 22nd May 2017 terrorist attack at Manchester Arena, which killed 22 people and left hundreds more with physical and psychological injuries. Members of Chambers, Winston Hunter KC and Simon Kilvington KC, acted on behalf of substantial groups of claimants throughout the proceedings, working alongside claimant firms and counsel involved in the litigation.

Byrom Street Chambers is honoured to be recognised alongside Hudgell Solicitors, Slater and Gordon Lawyers (UK), Broudie Jackson Canter and Temple Garden Chambers as part of the Manchester Arena Civil Litigation Team.

The shortlisting follows the conclusion of long-running proceedings which resulted in substantial settlements for survivors and bereaved families, including court-approved damages awards in claims involving children and protected parties.

The litigation required extensive coordination between the legal teams acting for claimants affected by one of the most serious terrorist incidents in recent UK history. The recognition reflects not only the complexity and significance of the proceedings, but also the determination and resilience shown by the clients throughout.

Chambers congratulates all those shortlisted at this year’s Manchester Legal Awards.
